I first started capturing her storytelling using the video mode on our digital camera, around about April, but she soon refused to let me film her. So I tried writing her stories while she told them, using pen and paper. That lasted for only a few stories too, before she caught on. Since then, I've been recording her using a mini MP3 recorder, which is pretty unobtrusive, and transcribing the audio later. She then objected strongly to this as well... Nowadays I use a combo of MP3 and video to record her before transcribing. I only manage to record a fraction of the stories she tells. I always have a backlog of stories on the recorder that still need transcribing, as it's impossible for me to keep up with her. To help new readers, I've marked my favourite stories with a star (*), so at least you have somewhere to start if you don't know where to begin. Don't forget to check the older archives too - there are some gems in there as well!

Aladar tells another story, 2007-08-11

CAME!!!! With a loud bang, then he tried to, tried to get it not to do the banging again

Not too many times, he get his book already then did not bang

He approached, he didn’t make any too much noise... there pushed (then whispers) what in

I pushed what in, was so many break... so many terrified of Aladar

The the next morning, Aladar woke up, and then he saw a bunch of iguanodons coming towards him... they were so big and so tall, and so mighty... they were Aladar’s friends, but they, but they each said there’s Aladar’s New Adventure

Aladar (indecipherable phrase) woke up, then the others, the other iguanodons woke him up! Then he looked... then... there was all the cars coming... there were... Ramone just comed, by he self, it him. The others was sick, because they, they, they were... they got chicken pox

So Ramone came, nearer and nearer, and nearer and nearer and nearer! Till..he saw the... the tree just passing by him.. then they came nearer to him... then they did nothing

He just, he just tried to pick... they didn’t move again

Then he was so not terrified to see everybody... they were not so big like the others, they were not so big as, they were not so big as the, like the others, they were not so big like the others, but so big... but not big as the other cars, the other cars was so big

They were big, so... so big and so (indecipherable), you can’t even see behind of.. of behind

(Sound of changing of her book prop, as she says) I don’t want to read this one, I read this one! So nice! Even I want it!

Aladar want to get out from the now... “Aladar’s New Adventure”

Styracosaurus... Aladar... Protopage... Peesh Out... Ladybird (she’s imitating how I always read book titles, author and illustrator names and publisher are the start of every book)

Aladar was so terrified

Dinosaurs... Diplodocus came nearer and nearer to him, then he get on his back

Then he get on his back, then ride, take a ride, then Diplodocus moved and moved and moved, till the whole (indecipherable) shaking with fear, then he moved...

Then no even sound came from it

He said, “This is an (indecipherable) place, sticking out from his leg”

And give you, I knows you question

This one is, one is.. for the Dawn Treader

Just... the the King... no more... the King... number six

This the Dawn Treader

He know the kiss of the princess

Aladar was still moving and moving and moving

So the whole ground was shaking with fear

He answered him, “so cosy... the whole ground was shaking with fear”

Then the others begin to heard outside... the others were not moving

So that, you too can die...

Noooot yet

This is the other one, the Dawn Treader
